Abigail is 7 months old

Baby Abigail hit the 7-month mark today. We spent the afternoon in 90+ degrees in the back yard. Abigail splashed in the tiny pool, a gift from Grandma Cathy a few years ago, and Megan played a bit on her new slip and slide, a $6 purchase from Aldi last week. I heart Aldi. Go ahead and admire my young tomato and basil plants in the pots in the picture above, too!

Water Park Day

Our community's water park opened for the season today. Here are all of us girls ready to hit the water. I have a nice shiny, I-just-sprayed-sunscreen-on-myself glow. My new swim suit (purchased on a shopping expedition when my sister was in town recently) looks cute, though! With temperatures in the mid-90s this afternoon, the weather was perfect for an afternoon at the pool ... and the slides and lazy river.

Preschool Olympics

Today was Megan's last day of preschool before summer vacation, and the kids held their own Olympics.

Lining up for the opening parade!

The kids sat on a big mat while waiting their turns to compete. (Sorry for the dark pictures!)

The whole class.

Fairytale Ballet

Megan and I ventured out to our library for a presentation about ballet. Here's Megan learning a few steps.

Saturday Stuff

Our latest garage sale goodie: a giant rocking horse! What made it extra nice was the fact that a guy helping at the sale put the horse in the back of his pickup truck and dropped it off at our house for us. Toyota Corollas aren't so good at hauling big rocking horses. We were informed this horse's name is Blue, short for Little Boy Blue, and Megan promised she would take good care of him and feed him.

All I have to do is pull out the camera and this baby cheeses big time.

My sister with the angry cat.

And Josh is off this afternoon speaking at the commencement ceremony for the high school he teaches at. He's sporting his master's hood from Truman State. He is both handsome and smart!

Trip to the American Girl Store

Earlier this week, Becca, Megan, Abigail, and I trekked out to the new American Girl Store in suburban St. Louis. Megan is still a bit young for one of these dolls, but we enjoyed looking around. Here are Becca and Megan standing with Becca's doll, Molly.

Here's Megan playing with Kaya and her teepee and other fun stuff.

Megan loved holding and looking at all the miniature dolls.

And she spent a long time playing in the Bitty Baby area.

Aunt Becca's visit

My sister has been in town all week, and Megan is elated. When Becca arrived, Megan snuggled up with her and chatted nonstop.

Matching painted nails.

We visited the St. Louis Zoo, where we rode the carousel and got to pet stingrays. Megan loved the stingray exhibit and we stayed for a good 45 minutes.

Megan had just gotten splashed in the face by a stingray.

Getting ready to feed the stingrays some smelt and shrimp.

Sleepy Abigail at the zoo.

And we ended the day with a stop at a local frozen custard stand.
